Our Founder

Philip Carpenter Lee is a United States Marine Corps Special Operations veteran and a global authority on radical physical transformation.  Phil combines his years of fitness experience with an impressive military and athletic background to help his clients create and sustain a healthy lifestyle.

Phil is highly esteemed among his industry peers and clients alike. His unorthodox coaching approach to general fitness, running, swimming and cycling, is a well-rounded fusion of strength & conditioning with free weights, kettlebells, bodyweight training, and other advanced techniques specifically tailored to the individual.

When asked to describe his fitness philosophy: “I have no set formulae, no fitness religion—in fact, there is no formula to make someone better because everyone is different. I figure out what you need based on what you teach me about yourself and what I determine by watching and studying you. I listen to you and work with you to help you achieve your maximum potential.”

Ideal Client

I can work with all people of all ages and walks of life. Civilians, military, professional athletes, actors, Law Enforcement/Fire/EMS, Older Adults, Overweight, Underweight, Post Rehab, youth, teens, and more have been my clients.  I can show you how to make healthy exercise an enjoyable part of your daily life. No one is too old, too young, too fit, or too out of shape!

Talking the Talk, Walking the Walk

Phil is a firm believer of leading and living by example through healthy diet and exercise as a lifestyle. He challenges himself to improve as an athlete by participating in Masters Competitions in track, swimming, and cycling.  Recreationally, his favorite sports are Rock Climbing, Skydiving, SCUBA diving, and open water swimming. He has raced in marathons, triathlons, track meets, swim meets, and cycling races from New York to Nairobi, Kenya.

Phil holds personal trainer certifications from the American Council of Exercise (ACE) and the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM).  He is certified to work with pre and postnatal women through AAAI/ISMA and has verified personal trainer profiles with IDEA, TRXTraining.Com and other industry leading authorities. Phil is also certified in many fitness specific modalities such as Indoor Cycling, Kettlebells, Trigger Point Therapy, the Wharton’s Active Isolated Stretching, and many more.

As a Marine Corps veteran, boot camp classes are drawn from his boot camp experience, not a book or a weekend certification course. He completed the Force Reconnaissance Indoc and Special Forces Combat Diver’s course, which are among the most physically demanding courses in the military.

Swimming Instructor

An avid swimmer and instructor, Phil has been teaching people of all ages to swim for years. He is an American Red Cross certified Water Safety Instructor and Lifeguard. Before becoming certified by the American Red Cross, Phil was an Aquatic Instructor Trainer for the YMCA. The Aquatic Instructor Trainer is the YMCA’s highest level of instructor allowing Phil to certify instructors for all YMCA aquatic programs.

While a member of the United States Marine Corps, 2nd Force Reconnaissance Company, Phil attained the highest swimming qualification issued by the Corps, Water Safety Qualified (WSQ.)  The WSQ test is a one-hour survival test with boots and camouflage utilities while test administrators harass the swimmer. Participants are tested with high-pressure water sprays and forced submersion, and all while roped into a small area of the pool filled with debris and other candidates.

Phil completed many other military certifications and trainings that included rigorous swimming components such as the Amphibious Reconnaissance and Ranger schools.  Phil is available for group and one-on-one lessons.
